folie à deux is a multimedia arts experience comprised of two separate shows that speak to the same thing: the darkest parts of the human experience. Equal parts night out at the theatre and evening spent at the cinema, folie à deux will be presented at everyone’s favorite Bywater venue, The Domino, during the last two weekends of May 2022. folie à deux serves as the debut performance of Streetcar Collective for the Arts, New Orleans’ newest performing arts organization.
This is your invitation to spend a gorgeous May evening enjoying two of the most compelling stories you’ve ever heard, each told in a medium of its own.
who inspired folie à deux?
Michael Martin – acclaimed actor, talented director and producer, founder of New Orleans’ popular InFringe Fest, beloved husband, and mentor to many within the New Orleans theatre community – planned on producing a series of plays leading up to a future iteration of InFringe Fest. Michael died before this plan came to fruition, but he did choose two of the plays to be included in the series before he passed. Those are the two plays performed as part of folie à deux.
